Brief Peek of What’s Coming to Your Wrist with Apple WatchOS 2

The Apple Watch runs on atchOS, which is designed similarly to iOS for iPhones and iPads. While the Apple Watch’s watchOS has been specifically designed for it, with features and applications that make the most of all of the technology available.

The Apple Watch’s first significant update is now accessible for download. New watch faces, enhanced third-party apps, and increased performance are all features of Apple’s Watch OS 2. To run apps, make calls, and use voice commands without an iPhone nearby, it even adds more Wi-Fi functionality.

Using communication tools, users may communicate drawings, heartbeats, and animated emoji, while apps like Activity and Workout retrieve data from the accelerometer and heart rate sensor. Notifications are sent to the Apple watch by small haptic taps on the wrist once it has been paired with the iPhone. new characteristics include:

Watch Faces

When using a watch, the face is the first thing you will see. Two new methods for setting your watch face are included in watchOS 2.

The first step is to select a picture from your watch’s Pictures app and set it as your watch face. Also, you may view a lovely animation of the motion both before and after the photo was taken using the Live Photos function.

Also, if you took an album, the Apple Watch will cycle through all of your favourite images whenever you raise your wrist. If you select just one picture, it will constantly display that picture.

The second watch face is a Time-Lapse face, which shows recordings taken over the course of a day in various locations around the world. Depending on the time you look at your watch, a different image will appear. For instance, if you look at your watch at 10:00 a.m. and it has the New York watch face, you will see a bright skyline. When 10:00 p.m. rolls around, it will be dark and you will be able to make out a skyline that is illuminated.

PAST TIME

With Apple Watch’s new Time Travel feature, you can use the Digital Crown to move time forward or backward in order to view forthcoming calendar events or weather forecasts. In order to catch up on any missed news headlines, you can also go back in time.

Time Travel, according to Apple, is a helpful function for complexities, or the supplementary data (weather, calendar events, date, etc.) shown on some Apple Watch faces.

Sleep Stand Mode

When you are not wearing your watch, you can set an alarm using this mode. The Apple Watch will enter Nightstand mode automatically after you lay it on its side and plug in the charger. In this mode, a digital display lights anytime you touch the screen, the Digital Crown, or the side button.

When the Apple Watch is used as an alarm, the buttons’ functionality is likewise altered by nightstand mode. The side button silences the alarm, while the Digital Crown serves as a snooze button.

Lock Activation

An Apple Watch may be reset and the passcode bypassed on a previous version of watchOS, allowing a stolen Apple Watch to be associated with a new iPhone. The Apple ID and password are now required to reset the new System, rendering them useless even if stolen.

Quicker Applications

Now that watchOS 2 is available, a large number of the apps run solely on your Apple Watch without the need for an iPhone. As a result, they load quicker. The Taptic Engine, Digital Crown, accelerometer, heart-rate sensor, speaker, and microphone are now available to apps.

Inbox of an email

A feature not present in past watchOS versions allows you to now respond to mail directly from your Apple Watch. Simply click Respond at the message’s bottom. then choose from a selection of pertinent, pre-written comments, dictate a message, or send an emoji.

Use Siri more often

Now far more adaptable than before, Siri is a personal assistant. You can start a specific exercise, check your Glances, receive transit information, look up a phrase in the dictionary, and determine a tip using your voice.

Transit

Transit enables you to combine multiple modes of transportation into one journey. Transit, which is accessible in a few international locations, provides precise rail, underground and bus schedules as well as thorough maps. Also, you can get directions for walking to and from your station.

Making new friends

You can create several Friends displays, each of which can accommodate up to 12 contacts, using the Friends feature on the Apple Watch. Moreover, you can instantly add a friend from your contacts on your watch.

Tethered-free Wi-Fi

Without first connecting to your iPhone, the Apple Watch will be able to connect to open Wi-Fi networks. Your wrist will work just fine in its place if you leave your phone in another room.
