Bangalore, India: The findings of a study conducted on online search trends for “Computer training” courses in India were released today by Sulekha.com, the top platform in India for meeting local service needs.
In this study, over 2,737,349 user needs from Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities (Thrissur, Agra, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Kochin, Coimbatore, Jaipur, and Jalandhar) were analysed, along with a database of over 20,000 listings for computer training services. The Tier 1 cities included New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune, and Ahmedabad.
Important and intriguing study results include:
- From 20% in the year before (2012–2013), the growth in searches for computer training courses grew to 40% in (2013-14).
- Online searches for Android Application Development courses have increased by 171% as a result of India’s expanding smartphone market.
- Auto CAD training and other engineering-related computer courses witnessed a growth of 116% in 2014 over 2013.
- Those searching for computer training make up 30% of users from Tier II cities and 70% of users from Tier I cities.
- While students in the North go for courses like Android Application Training and Web Designing, people in the South look for more conventional courses like Java, J2EE training, and.net.
- South India witnessed an increase of 64% in users looking for various computer training courses, while North India experienced a growth of 44%.
- The most popular courses in India are: Web Designing Training, AutoCAD Training, C++ Training,.Net Training, Embedded Systems Training, CCNA Certification Training, Java & J2EE Training, SAP ERP Training, Android Application Development Training, and CAD & CAM Training.
- The most popular courses from the list above include training in Java, J2EE, and Android Application Development. Bangalore has the highest volume of searches for these courses, followed by Hyderabad, while Kolkata has the lowest volume. Bangalore’s search volume increased from 43% in 2013 to 60% in 2014.
